Dear Meads Family; Through these times no one person can say or do the right thing to comfort or ease this loss.
USS Bataan (LHD-5) was where I first met Dan, he was the first one to run down to the post office to pick up mail. There are just so many good memories and he will not be forgoten.

The Meads Family.
As others have said, there is nothing we can say to ease your pain. But I would like to say what a fine man Daniel Meads was. He was a great friend and a awesome person to be around. There is nothing he wouldnt do for anyone of his friends or the people he associates with. I seldom find myself thinking about our past memories when we use to hang out and have a good time. I like to believe he is in a better place now, a place that he always use to talk about. If anyone deserves to be in heaven it is Daniel.
God bless him and RIP

Dear Meads Family, I'm sorry for your loss. He will be missed forever. I am a "bataan representative", too. I remember young FN Meads just checking on board ready for his first deployment after 9/11. He was always happy reveiving packeges from you with all those cookies he would share. Me, Meads and Brown were always together. From work to going out to the bbq's. I had the priveleage of showing him the ropes before I left to Cali. My love is with yall.

Yo Meads, where ever you are looking down at this, I just wanted you to know that we will always have good memories of you, and I just had a baby girl, Young Kassidy. She's beautiful man! You will always be in my heart.

I am currently on deployment after reporting on USS KAUFFMAN as the new CMC. Dan was in my department onboard the USS BATAAN and was an outstanding Sailor and patriot. He stood for all that is good and right, deciding to make great sacrifices to serve his nation selflessly and honorably. We have lost a great young man and a great veteran. I am proud to say I was his supervisor but even prouder to say I was his shipmate. My deepest condolences go out to his family and friends. May God's comfort and peace be upon you in this time of need.

Mr. and Mrs. Meads,
I met you very briefly aboard USS BATAAN during the Tiger Cruise. I commented to you about how much your son meant to me and how important he was to the IC Shop. I have since transferred from USS BATAAN, but I will always remember Dan Meads and the many ways he helped his shipmates and me. In the photo gallery, I have included some photos of Dan during some of the many ship evolutions that we shared. My deepest sympathies to your family during this time of great loss and please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you.

I served with your son while he was stationed onboard the USS BATAAN. I enjoyed working with him on numerous occasions and he was a great Sailor and you should be proud of him for the service he provided to the United Sates Navy. I want you to know that you and your family are in my prayers.
Sincerly,

I served with Dan in the Navy. We lived together for quite some time and i just want the world to know that it has lost the finest man i have ever had the priveledge to know. He was loved by everyone who's life he touched especially my wife and two boys who called him uncle Dan, he was like a second father to them. I know i can't say anything to ease the suffering of the ones he left behind, but i wanted you all to know how his friends feel about him.

We know that there is nothing we can say that will ease your pain right now, but know that we are praying for you and your family. Even though it doesn't probably feel like it right now God does have his arms around you and will hold you as tight as you need.
