DECATUR - Doris E. McArty, 97, of Decatur, IL, passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at Imboden Creek Living Center.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 22, at Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, with visitation one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at Macon County Memorial Park, Harristown. Memorials in Doris' honor may be made to: Shriner's Hospital for Children in St. Louis or St. John Children's Hospital in Springfield.
Doris was born September 19, 1926, in Decatur, the daughter of Floyd and LuRenah (Ward) Jacobs. She married William F. McArty on June 1, 1947, in Decatur. He preceded her in death on October 20, 2008.
Doris was a member of Bethlehem Presbyterian Church. She volunteered at Macon County Hospital and enjoyed traveling on bus trips, quilting for the church, cooking, baking and sewing. Doris was a member of the Macon County Farm Bureau.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda White (Wilson) of Decatur; grandchildren: Jason White of Decatur, Christen McArty McLeod (Clint) of Decatur; great-grandchildren: Calvin, Charlee and Crosby; brother, Caroll "Bud" Jacobs of Decatur and his daughter Cheryl Jacobs Fischer and husband Joe.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Calvin; great-grandson, Cobe McLeod; and sister, Dorothy Mouche.
