Dorothy M. Douglas

HINDSBORO - Dorothy M. Douglas, 83, of Champaign, IL formerly of Hindsboro, IL passed away at 3:15 a.m. Saturday, August 28, 2004 at the Odd Fellow-Rebekah Home in Mattoon, IL. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 31, 2004 at the Edwards Funeral Home in Arcola, IL. Burial will be in the Hugo Cemetery at a later time. Dorothy was born on April 21, 1921 in Paris, IL. She was the daughter of Ray and Jessie H. (Vandeventer) Douglas. Survivors include: Five brothers: Glen Douglas and his wife Barbara of Phoenixville, PA; Dale Douglas and his wife Phyllis of Indianapolis, IN; L.W. Douglas and his wife Lois of Tuscola, IL; Don Douglas and his wife June of Hindsboro, IL; Ned Douglas and his wife Phyllis of Hindsboro, IL; Three sisters: Mary Frances VanVoorhis of Mattoon, IL; Lorene Shea and her husband Bill of Fort Collins, CO; June Walters of Fort Collins, CO; Twenty-eight nieces nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Ben, Max, and Rex Douglas and one sister, Jean Douglas. Dorothy retired from Carle Clinic in Urbana, IL with over 35 years of service. Her family was very special to her. Memorials may be made to the Hindsboro Civic Center. Obituary written by family members
