Thomas family, my heart felt sympathy to all of you. I have great memories of Thomi in high school and afterwards when we were all a little crazy. He truly loved life & had a big heart. Getting a hug from Doug was real! I am truly sorry for your loss but he is smiling as he looks in on all of you. Sherry Howard Emerson, Farmer City, IL

Andrea,
The Nat, San, Dave, Jesse and I are so sorry for your loss. It was evident that your dad was greatly loved. Sandrine was very touched by him and spoke of him often. I'm sorry she couldn't be around for the funeral. We send you distant hugs and are keeping you and your family in our prayers.

Ellen, although I have been away from Lovington for many years, I still feel a loss when I come across a loss of people and their families that I knew as a youth...I was shocked when I saw the notice on Doug. Please accept my condolences on your loss.

Cheryl, Leah, Andrea, Ellen and Suellen,
I was deeply saddened to hear of Doug's passing after his long and couragous battle. It's not easy to find the right words in times like this, but I hope you can find comfort in the many friends that loved him. He was a special person with a unique ability to entertain people and make everyone laugh.
I'll always remember the road trips, tailgate parties, bowl games, golf vacations and just the great times I had the privilege to spend with him. I always looked forward to seeing Thomi whenever I had the chance. Lovington will not be the same without him.
I will miss you my dear friend. May God bless.
