Edward Thomas Farrell, 62, passed away peacefully at home in Chicago on October 1, 2025, from prostate cancer and COPD. Eddie was born in Decatur, Ill. on May 29, 1963; the second son, of a second son, of a second son. He was the much loved sixth and youngest child of Edward and Delores Farrell. Eddie was a welder by trade and worked for several companies throughout his lifetime. He was a voracious reader and loved to play bridge and chess at a very young age. He had an amazing love for animals. Eddie was able to make his annual family trip to Turkey Run State Park in July and walk to his beloved Sunset Point. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Margaret Rora. He is survived by siblings: Janice (Bruce) Pea, John (Susan) Farrell, Mary (Keith) Stewart, Martha (Mike Cotton) Farrell; and brother-in-law: Mike Rora. Eddie also leaves many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews whom he dearly loved. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
