Elizabeth Ferry Obituary

DECATUR - Our beloved Mother, Elizabeth Ann Ferry, 85, of Decatur passed away Sunday, February 26, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital. A Requiem Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at St. James Catholic Church, Decatur, Illinois. A private family burial will follow service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to St. Mary's Hospital. Elizabeth was born in St. Louis, Missouri. She was a graduate of St. Louis City Hospital School of Nursing, and Millikin University. She served her country as a member of the United States Cadet Nurse Corps during WWII. She married Dr. J. Donald Ferry in 1948. He died in 2009. She is survived by her children: Kathleen (Robert) Owen, Louise (David) Stewart, J. Donald (Susan) Ferry Jr, Anne (Nicholas) Sears, Elizabeth (Carl) Tenney, Rachel (Patrick) Morrison, and J. Timothy (Sheryl) Ferry, eighteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Loretta and Matilda, also survive. Graceland/Fairlawn Funeral Home is assisting the family with these arrangements.
