Everett Biggs Obituary
Services will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday in Edwards Funeral Home, Arcola, with the Rev. Donald Winch officiating. Visitation will be two hours before services. Burial will be in Arcola Cemetery. Memorials: Arcola Lions Club.
Everett was born Aug. 27, 1911, in Douglas County, the son of Charles Robert and Susie Ketura Seitz Biggs. He farmed in Arcola until 1978. He and his wife, Letha, then retired to Florida, returning to Arcola in 1994. Everett enjoyed fishing and boating. He married Letha Murile Ellis on Oct. 22, 1931, in Decatur. She passed away Dec. 8, 1997.
Surviving are his daughters, Betty Chancellor and husband C.W. and Lena Ramsey and husband Homer, all of Arcola; grandchildren, Larry Chancellor and wife Glenda and Karen Wesch and husband Dan, all of Arcola; Marsha Coleman and husband Steven of Green Castle, Pa.; Pam McNamer and Larry Conlin of Neoga; Sherry Lyons and husband Tom of Arcola; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Mildred Smith of Tucson, Ariz.; sisters-in-law, Margaret Biggs and Hortense Biggs, both of Arcola.
He was preceded in death by his wife; brothers, William Biggs and Albert Biggs; and sister, Blanche Campbell.
