Sorry for your loss. Jim and Dad were good friends and I know he enjoyed his company. I remember many times riding in your bus to a race on the week-ends. Prayers from Ethiopia.

Ater Family, I just wanted to take a minute to express my deepest sympathy. Some of my favorite memories was going into town with my grandpa Marvin to "Aters". I always got a pop and a candy bar. Listening to my grandpa a Jim chat about who only knows was entertaining and the laughs they created always come back when I drove by the shop. My grandpa Darrell Hartnell, I´m sure was waiting for Jim at the gates and their conversations about racing probably picked right back up and they are starting a Heaven racing team. Jim was an AMAZING man and always treated me like family. No one has and never will change my car oil like he did; with compassion and care. My heart is with all of you!!

Creta,
Sorry for your loss. I worked with Jim when Art Strocher owned the Mobil Station in Macon. I was in high school. Jim and I got to reminisce at Jack Herbert's visitation. It was good to talk to him. My condolences to you and your family. My dad also took his car and truck to Jim's many times.

Creta & family, Please accept my sincere sympathy for your loss. Jim and his father have been a memorable part of the Lyce C. Ellis family since the late 20's when my & & Jim's father were neighbors and rode their motorcycles together. My father was Jim's customer forrever, and Mother Hazel remained Jim's longtime customer. Jim was my go-to mechanic for Macon Monsanto & Monsanto provided Jim with a racing "fire-suit"/small sponsor in 1967....I have nany good "Jim memories" and really enjoyed watching Jim race.
