James Butts Obituary

MOUNT ZION - James Lee Butts, Sr., 77, of Mt. Zion, died Thursday, August 17, 2006 at Decatur Memorial Hospital. A memorial service will be held at 3 pm. Sunday, August 20, 2006 at the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home, preceded by a visitation from 1 to 3 pm. Memorials: Calvary Southern Baptist Church. Jim was born on May 27, 1929 in St. Louis, MO. the son of Russell and Edith (Alderson) Butts. He was an Air Force Veteran and for 54 years was a member of IBEW Local 146. He was also a 50 year member of Calvary Southern Baptist Church. Jim married Margaret Ray on December 30, 1950. Surviving are his wife; son, James L. Butts, Jr., and wife Becky of Mt. Zion; daughters: Judy Cox and husband Jeff of Decatur; Lisa Cepielik and husband Robert of Paoli, PA. Grandchildren are Josh and Luke Butts and Lynnae, Samuel, Daniel and Olivia Cepielik. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Jean and one brother, Russell. The family of James Lee Butts, Sr. is being served by the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home, 2801 N. Monroe St. Decatur.
