Jane Chapman Obituary

DECATUR - Jane K. Chapman 65 of Decatur, died at 10:00 a.m., Monday, February 18, 2008, while surrounded by her family and friends. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, February 21, 2008, at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Todd's Point Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Cancer Care Specialists Charitable Fund. Messages of condolence may be sent to the family at www.dawson-wikoff.com. Jane was born March 13, 1942 in Decatur, IL the daughter of Harry and Vera (Leming) Shelton. She married D.L. "Chappie" Chapman on November 13, 1968. He preceded her in death on March 1, 1981. Jane enjoyed family events, raising her grandkids, and playing bingo and bunko with her new loving and supportive family at Spring Creek Towers. She is survived and lovingly remembered by her children: Kenneth Fair of West Columbia, S.C., Janet Fair and Neal of Decatur, Jessica Coins and Carla of Decatur, David Chapman and his wife Barbara of Decatur; brother: Jack Shelton of Decatur; sister: Judy Jones of Decatur; grandchildren: Andrew and Derek Coins, Abby, Colin and Matthew Fair, Zach and Payton Fair, David and Cassandra Chapman. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, four brothers, and three sisters. Our family's utmost appreciation for advice and support during the difficult times is to Den, Peg, Will and Lorraine. After many difficult years of fighting cancer and other diseases, Jane and her family would like too express their heartfelt appreciation for the courageous efforts of the Oncology Staff at Decatur Memorial Hospital and to Dr. Estrada-Garcia. I am so sorry to hear of this, I talked to her in December about Tom and how we missed him. Henry and I both send our sympathy to all of you. We are in Florida and won't be back until March. We are so sorry we won't be able to attend. I know she will be missed by all of you.

So sorry to hear about your mom. I'm in Mississippi for the winter and saw it online. We won't be able to attend but will be thinking of all of you We had alot of fun playing bunco, she would sub for my club, and I would sub for her club.
