GAINSVILLE, Florida - It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jennifer Marie (Beam) Deger, who courageously battled breast cancer for six and a half years. Jennifer passed away peacefully in Gainesville, FL on the morning of January 13, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones.
Born in Springfield, Illinois in 1977, Jennifer was raised in Central Illinois and graduated from Warrensburg-Latham High School.
She proved to have a natural affinity to understanding construction and pricing building materials which would eventually lead her to becoming a Purchaser for residential construction companies.
Where Jennifer truly thrived was as a devoted wife, loving mother, and cherished friend. Throughout her life, she faced challenges with resilience and a spirit that inspired all who knew her. Jennifer's strength was always evident in her journey with breast cancer, where she truly fought with unwavering courage.
Jennifer is survived by her beloved husband, Mark Deger; and their two daughters: Brylie Robinson and Ashlyn Deger.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and the beautiful memories shared with family and friends.
In addition to her immediate family, Jennifer is also mourned by; her father, Curtis Beam; step-mother, Ellen Beam; and her mother, Kathleen Stain; and a community of friends who were touched by her warmth, wit, and tenacity.
A memorial service to celebrate Jennifer's life will be held on January 27, 2024, 1:00 p.m. at Milam Funeral Home, 311 S. Main Street, Gainesville, FL 32601.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the following charities, which were close to Jennifer's heart: Breast Cancer Research Foundation, 28 West 44th Street, Suite 609, New York, NY 10036, METAvivor, 783 Forest Dr., #184, Annapolis, MD 21401.
Jennifer will be deeply missed but forever remembered for the strength she displayed, the love she shared, and the positive impact she had on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
