No words can convey my feelings of sadness at the loss of Josh. He was a fierce friend with a heart of gold that would do anything for anyone. It is a rare quality to find in a person, which is what made Josh such a unique individual. I remember the first real moment I met Josh. It was at a track meet in 8th grade, and we got into an argument because he accidentally kicked me with his spikes. That year we became good friends and went on to run the 4x200M relay at state with Bryan and jay(we basically got last place over all). We used to have a routine over the summers throughout high school. Since we lived in the same neighborhood I would usually go to his house, we would grab a water from the downstairs fridge, a bologna sandwich from the upstairs fridge, say hello to Debbie and Dan, mess with Jared, and say hey to Jeremy as we went into Josh's room. When it came time to head to my house Josh would always take a minute to tell his parents where we were going and would always say "alright, love you too" as we headed out the door to either wash our cars or get ready for the night ahead. Whenever I came back into town from college he was always the first person I would call, even over my family sometimes. When it came to going out or going to dances, Josh was never afraid to jump in the middle and do something crazy like his renowned worm move. The kid had no fear or hesitations. Looking back at all the time we spent together over the years really makes me envious and reminds me how lucky I was to have such a great friend.
To Debbie, Dan, Jared, and Jeremy:
I know Josh held you in highest regard and how important kinship was to him. May the memories you spent together give you strength. My heart and prayers are with you all.

Josh, I will never forget the times we had. From staying up til four c'clock talking about everything to you making me watch whale wars. You had the ability to be a mature adult and at the same time be a kid at heart. I adored that about you. You are truly missed and will forever be in my heart.

Josh, I don't even know where to begin. I always thought so much of you and you were always my favorite friend of Robert's. From all of sorority functions, nights out with you, Brette, and Robert, and even all of our fun in high school. These are just some of the memories I will cherish forever. It seems weird to think you are not just right down the street anymore but I know you are watching over us all. You were an amazing person who will be truly missed and never forgotten.

Words cannot describe how heartbroken me and so many others feel at the loss of Josh. Josh was one of my best friends and i loved him like a brother. Now we must learn to cherish the fact that Josh was in our lives at all, and remember him through all of the wonderful memories he made possible for us. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. I am so grateful to have had the opportunity to serve with Josh in "Kid's Church" ministry at Heartland Community Church. We had a great team - Tim, Karol, Josh & Jeremy. The children were so excited when Josh and Jeremy were there to do the puppet show. I can still remember the smiles the puppet show brought to the children's faces and now the smile it brings to mine. Hold on to all of the wonderful memories of Josh - the memories along with God's help - will get you through this dificult time.

I have a lot of great memories of Josh during my time at Warrensburg. I regret not keeping in touch with him, like with most of my friends at WL. He was a very honest friend, one you could always trust. I will be keeping Josh and his family in my prayers.
