DECATUR - Joyce Ann Toler, 70, of Decatur, IL, passed away on October 7, 2023, at St. Mary's Hospital.
She was born on August 27, 1953, in Jacksonville, IL, to Homer and Zelma (Castleberry) Toler. Joyce was a graduate of Eisenhower High School. She went on to get her nursing certificate and became a dedicated and compassionate nurse who loved helping others.
Joyce's greatest accomplishment was her nursing career and serving the Decatur area for over 30 years.
Joyce was a cinema buff. She loved to watch movies and television. She was an avid reader and loved her fantasy books.
She is survived by her son, Brent Fitch; his father, David Fitch; her daughters: Gabrielle Trone (Ryan) and Briana Smither (Dillon); their father, Marshall Mingus; granddaughter, Maeve Smither; sister, Sandra Riley; niece, Amber Powell; along with her two great-nieces: Natalie and Neeley; and one great-nephew, Nolan.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Dorothy Koshinski.
The family would like to welcome friends to a Memorial Service on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at 3:00 PM at the Antioch Christian Church in Decatur, IL, on 5409 E US-36, Decatur, IL, 62521. The family requests casual attire for attendees.

So sorry for your loss. I also live at the Reserve at Lakeview and knew her as a friend and fun to talk with. She was also very passionate with the color Purple. She will be missed.
