Larry Day Obituary
August 6, 1951 - December 18, 2024
Larry Wayne Day passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2024, peacefully in his home at the age of 73.
Visitation will be Monday, December 23, 2024, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Harvest Christian Center in Decatur, Ill. Funeral Service will immediately follow. Officiating the service will be Pastors Kirk Henneberry and Colten Day. Burial will be at the Maroa Township Cemetery. Tanzyus Logan Funeral Service and Care is in charge of the funeral care. Memorials can be made to Harvest Christian Center and New Day Community Church.
Larry was born August 6, 1951, in Clinton, Ill. He was the son of Burl Marion Day and Juanita Annis (Harris) Day. He graduated from Maroa Forsyth High School in 1969 and then from Southern Illinois University in 2002. He was retired from Eaton Corporation where he had worked for many years as Toolroom Manager. He was married to his high school sweetheart, Cynthia Denise Leslie in 1970. Larry was a strong Christian who enjoyed more than anything else, spending time with his family.
Larry is survived by his beloved wife, Cynthia; son, Larry Andrew (Andy) Day and wife Amy; grandchildren, Audry Fisher and husband Michael, Colten Day and wife Carlee, Riley Day and fiancée Lizzie Snow; great-grandchildren, Brinley, Blakely, and Brody Fisher, and Callie Day; sisters, Joyce Carolus and husband Doug, Joanne Woolums and husband Joe; and numerous nephews and nieces.
Larry was preceded in death by both parents; and sister, Janice Day.
The family would like to thank everyone for all the thoughts, prayers, and acts of kindness. Also, special thanks to the Memorial Home Hospice Care Team for the kindness and compassion shown during the most difficult time.
