Nels Nelson Obituary
Graveside services will be 10:00 A.M., Thursday, January 22, at Bement Cemetery, Bement, Illinois. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 P.M., Wednesday, January 21, at Brintlinger & Earl Funeral Home, Decatur.
Nels was born October 23, 1912, in Sweden, the son of Berndt and Amanda (Germundsson) Nelson. He married Rowena Hester on May 21, 1939. She preceded him in death in 1987.
He was a member of Trinity Church of the Nazarene.
He is survived by his children, Richard Nelson and wife Mary of Argenta, Donald Nelson of Decatur, Renee Conour and husband Ronald of Decatur, Karen Oathout and husband Kenny of Decatur; sisters, Esther Washem of Vancouver, WA and Signe Wildman of Findlay, IL; 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; son - John David Nelson in 1993; infant daughter - Cynthia Nelson in 1949; parents; two sisters.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. William H. Shackelford and staff, St. John's Home Health and Fair Haven's Christian Home.
