DECATUR - Rhoda M. Best, 92, of Decatur, IL, passed away at 10:00 p.m. Friday, March 4, 2011, at McKinley Court Care Center, Decatur. Graveside Inurnment services will be 2:30 P.M., Thursday, March 10, 2011 at Fairlawn Cemetery, Decatur, IL. Brintlinger and Earl Funeral Home, Decatur, IL is assisting the family with the arrangements. Memorials may be made to donor's choice. Rhoda was born October 19, 1918, in Cowden, IL, the daughter of Birt L. and Amanda Florence (Sparks) Dunaway. She married Charles F. Musser in 1939 and he preceded her in death in 1965. She later married Robert A. Best in January 1968, and they celebrated 25 years of marriage together. Robert preceded her in death in 1993. Rhoda was a buyer and manager at Van Law Carol's Women's Apparel for many years, and later associated with R.A. Best Insurance Company. Surviving are her stepson Robert D. Best of Ellenton, FL; step granddaughters Laura L. Best, Sarah A. Best, Katherine Best Lawrence, all of San Jose, CA; 7 step great grandchildren; sisters Edna Lohn of Glenview, IL and Carolyn Kroninger of Sacramento, CA; and many nieces and nephews.
