Scotty D. Cramer, 59, formerly of Dalton City, passed away at 8:00 a.m. on July 18, 2025, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at the First Baptist Church of Mt. Zion, IL. Visitation will be held prior to the service, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m., also at the church. The family requests informal, casual attire. Burial will take place privately at a later date.

Scotty was born on July 29, 1965, in Urbana, IL to Donald and Sadie (Lewis) Cramer. He grew up in Sadorus, IL and graduated from Unity High School in 1983. Scotty was the youngest of three siblings, Tammy (Rich) Stierwalt and Tony (Lynnette) Cramer. On May 1, 1993, he married the love of his life, Julie (Driver) Cramer. Together, they shared 32 years of marriage and raised a family grounded in love, laughter, and strong values. Along the way, they welcomed three children; Kurtis (Kimberly) Cramer, Aaron (Lacey) Cramer, and Olivia Cramer. Scotty was a loyal friend, caring brother, devoted husband, proud father, and cherished grandfather. Lovingly known as Papa, Scotty has five beloved grandchildren; Lincoln, Theodore, Jack, Azariah, and Oliver. He also had a special place in his heart for his miniature dachshund, Shooter.

Scotty worked as an outside splicer then as a switch tech for 19 years for the phone company, GTE (Verizon/Frontier). Later he worked in retail gun sales at Rural King in Decatur.

A faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Mt. Zion, Scotty previously served as a trustee and could always be counted on to lend a hand. His faith, quiet strength, and contagious joy defined the way he lived his life. He truly never met a stranger and was known for his warm smile, easy conversation, and willingness to help anyone in need. Even as his health declined, Scotty continued to focus on lifting up others, always trying to bring a smile to those around him because that's simply who he was.

Scotty was preceded in death by his father, Donald; mother, Sadie; sister, Tammy; and cherished miniature dachshund, Shooter.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Scotty's memory to the First Baptist Church of Mt. Zion.
