William Lee Marietta

MT. ZION - William Lee Marietta, 83, of Mt. Zion, IL went home to be with his heavenly Father on the morning of Saturday, November 22, 2025.

Services to honor Lee's life will begin with a visitation from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Calvert & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion, IL. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Saturday morning with Pastor Tracy Smith officiating. Burial will be in Point Pleasant Cemetery, Long Creek. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Mt. Zion or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Messages of condolence may be shared with the family at Calvertmemorial.com.

Lee was born on November 16, 1942, in Moberly, MO the son of William A. and Kathryn O. (Wainscott) Marietta. He married Mildred "Millie" Lay on August 14, 1970. Lee had retired as a Conductor from the N& S Railroad. During his retirement he worked as a photographer for the Herald & Review newspaper. Lee was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mt. Zion having served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher and Treasurer for the church. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, Chicago Bears fan and Illini fan. His greatest joy was spending time with his grandsons and great-grandchildren.

Surviving is his wife, Millie of Mt. Zion; daughter, Shawna Lynch of Mt. Zion; sister, Cheryl Kruse of Raleigh, NC; grandsons, Brett Lynch of Carbondale, IL, Brandon Lynch (Ashley) of Mt. Zion, and Bryce Lynch (Reve Chaney) of Dalton City; great-grandchildren, Harley, Kiersyn, Kayden, Dagon, Easton, Haven, Skylar, and Theo; niece, Kris Sloman (Jim) of Raleigh, NC; nephew, Michael Kruse of Phoenix, AZ; great-nieces, Kaley Sloman and Emily Sloman.

Lee was preceded in death by his parents.
