Alan Weiselberg Obituary

Alan Weiselberg
December 7, 1945 - December 4, 2022
Miami, Florida - Alan I. Weiselberg of Miami passed away peacefully on December 4th with his loving family by his side. He was just three days short of his 77th birthday.
Affectionately known to his nine grandchildren as "Popi," Alan was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend to many who will miss him dearly. Born in New York City on December 7, 1945, to Celia (Naddelman) and Dr. Martin Weiselberg, Alan graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in Brooklyn, NY, in 1963. Alan married his high school sweetheart, Joanne (Feldmesser), in New York in 1968 and they enjoyed 54 wonderful years of marriage together. After having their first two children, Dara and Scott, in New York City, Alan and Joanne moved their family to Miami in 1973, and a few years later, had their third child, Jennifer.
Alan was an active member of the South Florida business community for over 45 years, having built a successful management and consulting services company. From 1984 through 1996, Alan served on the Board of Directors of Capital Bank, serving as Chairperson of the bank's Audit Committee and Trust Division. Alan was also a founder and Director of Capital Factors, the third largest publicly traded factoring company in the U.S. at the time. Alan also served as a Founding Trustee and the Treasurer of The Miami Children's Hospital Foundation for 15 years and served as a member of the Citizen's Board of the University of Miami.
Alan had a heart of gold and was the most generous of souls. He was well read, articulate, and would light up any room he entered, often engaging with anyone willing to listen. But nothing made Alan happier than the family that surrounded him until he took his final breath. He even ended each toast he gave at every family gathering, "To the Family!" In addition to his beloved wife, Joanne, Alan is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Ted and Christine (Weiselberg); daughters and sons, Dara and Mark (Salky), Scott and Danielle (Weiselberg), and Jennifer and David (Auerbach); nine grandchildren, Brandon, Jake and Andrew Salky, Jonathan, Brett and Alex Weiselberg, and Arden, Max and Devon Auerbach; and dog who adored him, Rocky.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, December 7, where the people that were most important to Alan celebrated the life of this amazing man. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Alan's memory to The Children's Fund for Glycogen Storage Disease; Jorge Nation Foundation, Inc.; Congregation Dor Chadash; or any other charity of your choice.

Dr. Weiselburg was my first dentist in 1950. I remained with him until his retirement. I remember seeing Alan pick up his bike, which was kept in his father´s office. Alan and graduated Lincoln High School together. I remember All as a young boy.So sorry for your loss.
