ALBERTO BENCOSME Memoriam
SON OF CRISTINA E. AND PASTOR A. BENCOSME, WAS BORN IN
SANTIAGO, DOMINICAN REPUBLIC ON APR. 1, 1980 AND MIGRATED TO THE U. S. IN 1989. HE ATTENDED JOSE MARTI MIDDLE SCHOOL, GEORGE T. BAKER AVIATION, AND AMERICAN SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL IN MIAMI, FL. IN 1997, HE RECEIVED HIS HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA AND ENLISTED IN THE U.S. MARINE CORPS. UPON COMPLETION OF BOOT CAMP ALBERTO WAS
ATTACHED TO TOW/SCOUT PLT 8TH TK BN, MIAMI, FL. SUBSEQUENTLY, ALBERTO ENTERED COLLEGE AND BEGAN HIS FLYING CAREER BY EARNING HIS PILOT AND
INSTRUCTOR CERTIFICATION FROM MIAMI DADE COLLEGE AVIATION PROGRAM.
IN 2004, HE GRADUATED FROM
EMBRY-RIDDLE AERONAUTICAL
UNIVERSITY WHERE HE RECEIVED A BACHELOR OF SCIENCE DEGREE IN AERONAUTICS. IN ADDITION,
ALBERTO WAS PROMOTED TO THE RANK OF SERGEANT AND
RECEIVED THE MARINE OF THE YEAR AWARD. ALBERTO THEN
ENTERED THE MARINE CORPS
OFFICER PROGRAM AND WAS
COMMISSIONED A SECOND
LIEUTENANT. ALBERTO BECAME AN OFFICER IN THE MARINE CORPS TO FULFILL HIS DREAM OF FLYING.
HE CARRIER QUALIFIED IN THE T-45C ONBOARD THE AIRCRAFT CARRIER USS DWIGHT D. EISENHOWER 9 CVN-69 IN AUGUST OF 2007. ALBERTO WAS AWARDED THE "WINGS OF GOLD" AS A NAVAL AVIATOR. THEREAFTER, HE WAS ASSIGNED TO MARINE ATTACK TRAINING SQUADRON 203 (VMAT-203), CHERRY POINT, N.C. AND WAS CERTIFIED AN AV-8B HARRIER JET PILOT. ON DECEMBER 1, 2008 HE WAS PROMOTED TO THE RANK OF CAPTAIN.
ON DECEMBER 29, 2008 CAPT.
ALBERTO NOEL BENCOSME PASSED AWAY TO A BETTER PLACE AFTER HIS AV-8B HARRIER CRASHED IN AN UNPOPULATED AREA NEAR MARINE CORPS AIR STATION CHERRY POINT, N.C.
ALBERTO; A GREAT SON, A GREAT BROTHER, AND A GREAT FRIEND. TODAY, IN REMEMBRANCE OF YOUR BIRTHDAY, WE PRAISE THE EXEMPLARY LIFE YOU LIVED. WE WATCHED YOU AIM FOR THE STARS, FULFILL YOUR GOALS, AND LIVE YOUR DREAM. FOR THAT WE THANK YOU.

I miss you bro... I can't picture you not being here, even when i go to your grave. Since we were kids I always listen to you. I always tried to fit in to those big shoes. You groomed me into becoming a better man. You always led by example like a true Marine. Thanks for everything! I know... I know... When the Platoon Commander goes down, the Platoon Segeant is supposed to step up and take charge! Semper Fidelis
