It's so hard to believe that Amanda is gone. She is and was a real sweetheart and an angel. I've never met anyone as nice as her. She truly has earned her blue angel wings now. She's now watching over all of us.

I say this with tears and I hope u have found peace.. U where a wonderful women that I will never forget.. I hope your family can find peace in knowing you are pain free and flying high now.. I only have known you personally for the last 2 months and feel you were becoming a good friend. You would stop on the job everyday to chat and laugh and joke with the guys and I.. I will never forget that bright smile. I never would have thought that a week ago when you stopped on the job would be the last time we seen you. But thank you for stopping by I felt that was your last goodbye and it gave me a warm feeling knowing I got to see u. Rest easy now my friend u are pain free..

One day several years ago my husband and I were out for a walk and returned to my car that was parked in the Ithaca High School parking lot. A young woman was learning to drive in that parking lot and made a mistake. She hit one of the light poles and knocked over the pole. Her husband and young daughter had been in the car with her. The police arrived and were there as we got to the parking lot. Amanda St. Denis was sitting on the ground with the small child in her lap. She was comforting that child as she was very upset. She rocked her and talked to her and calmed her down. It was a moment my husband and I spoke of yesterday as we learned of her death. This was a special moment. It wasn't done for cameras as there were none there. It simply showed what a caring and compassionate individual Officer St. Denis was. Our sympathy goes out to her entire family. We are so sorry for your loss.

You will be missed so much by so many. I cherish memories of years of our hockey & rowing moms-of-3-sons times and also our chats at Ithaca High School. Sending big, big hugs to your beloved sons.

Truly a sad day for all those that had the privilege of knowing Amanda. My fondest memories will be the numerous occasions that she would cross the street or exit her vehicle to say hello with a big hug and a smile! May God hold her sole in his hands and comfort her family and others. Amen.

The city of Ithaca just lost a wonderful & loyal police woman.
I loved the many conversation we have had over the years. She always spoke highly of her children & family.
Amanda you will be greatly missed & always remembered.
I never would have thought when we spoke less than two weeks ago it was goodbye.

I had many fun times with Amanda when she worked as the school resource officer at IHS a decade or so ago. She was stationed out of my office and I always enjoyed the laughs we shared. I am so sorry to hear of this tragic loss. I will miss seeing her come by the school on calls :( Sympathies to her family.
