Anne Pearson Obituary

Anne Bates Pearson

December 16, 1934 - October 16, 2025

Coral Gables, Florida - Anne Stuart Bates Pearson, of Webster Groves, Missouri, and Coral Gables, Florida, died peacefully of old age on Thursday, October 16, 2025. Anne and her husband of 65 years, David H. Pearson, had been longtime Coral Gables residents, living for over fifty years in the historic French Village, where they raised their three children and many beloved pets.

Anne was a voracious reader as well as an active patron of the arts. She loved music, the theatre, cinema, book readings, opera, and also had an incredibly busy social life. She loved to spend evenings dining outdoors with friends at the Biscayne Bay Yacht Club, and with the extended Pearson family in Islamorada. She was a longtime member of Plymouth Congregational Church in Coconut Grove, had been an active member of Planned Parenthood, and took a keen interest in social justice and human rights.

She is predeceased by her mother, Frances Schultz Bates; her father, Charles Robinson Bates; and beloved brothers Bud and Rick Bates.

She is survived by her husband, David; son Christopher, daughters Margaret and Katherine; grandchildren Alexandra, Edward, Eric and Charlie; and great-grandson, Alexander; and many nieces and nephews.

Donations may be made in Anne's name to Plymouth Congregational Church.
