Miami, Florida - Barbara Crompton Thompson, of Pinecrest, Florida, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Miami on December 4, 1957, Barb spent most of her life in the community she loved. She graduated from Westminster Christian School and Furman University, where she met her husband and the love of her life, Peter. Throughout her life, Barb worked as a teacher and office manager, but the roles she treasured most were "Mom" and "Mimi."

A woman of deep faith and quiet strength, Barb lived her life devoted to her faith, her family, and the beauty of the natural world. Barb's Christian faith was the foundation of her life. She lived each day with grace, humility, and a servant's heart-always ready to offer help, a listening ear, or a warm embrace. She had a gifted eye for photography, often capturing life's most tender and fleeting moments through her lens. She found joy in the wonders of God's creation and time shared with those she loved.

Barb was preceded in death by her mother, Patricia Crompton, and is survived by her beloved husband, Peter; her children, Andrew (Shannon) and Rebecca (Brian); and her cherished grandchildren, Alexa, Lucas, Ella, Olivia, and August. She also leaves behind her father, Thomas R. Crompton Sr. (Maria); her siblings, Kathryn, Thomas Jr., and Penelope (Garth); and many nieces and nephews who adored her.

Her passing leaves a deep void in the lives of those who loved her, but we rejoice that she is now in the presence of her Savior. Barb's legacy of love, compassion, and steadfast faith will continue to inspire us.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the fall at Crossbridge Church Pinecrest. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Fairchild Tropical Botanic Garden, Miami Cancer Institute (Baptist Health Foundation), City to City Miami, or the charity of your choice.
