Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania - Catherine Mongiello Sugarbaker, known affectionately by her grandchildren as "Nanny" died peacefully on Monday, November 8, 2021, in Pittsburgh, PA. She is survived by her daughter, Katy Sugarbaker Caliguiri (David) of Pittsburgh; and her grandchildren, Maxwell (18), Ellie (17), and Sampson (11); as well as her brothers, James Mongiello of Florida and Americo Mongiello of New York; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, James and Anne Mongiello; and a son, Everett Mongiello. Cathy was a registered nurse for many years in Miami, Florida. She enjoyed traveling to Italy with friends and family and got immense joy spending time with her grandchildren. Friends and family will be received at her burial, graveside on her birthday Friday, May 6th, at 2:30 pm at Caballero Woodland North 3260 SW 8th St, Miami, FL 33135. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Melanoma Research Alliance 730 15th Street NW, 4th Floor Washington, DC 20005 (www.curemelanoma.org).
