Chester Schriesheim

1946 - 2025

Dr. Chester A. Schriesheim, a distinguished scholar, devoted family man, and admired mentor, passed away on October 24, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. He leaves behind a legacy defined by intellectual rigor, generosity of spirit, and a lifelong commitment to uplifting others through education and leadership.

Born with a deep curiosity about people and organizations, Dr. Schriesheim built a remarkable academic career spanning several decades. He was widely respected for his contributions to organizational behavior, leadership research, and the scientific study of management. Over the course of his career, he authored numerous influential publications, mentored generations of students and scholars, and held professorships and leadership roles that advanced both his field and the institutions he served. There will be a memorial service for Chet on Sunday, January 11th at 3:00 p.m. at the James McLamore Executive Education Center, 5250 University Drive, Coral Gables, FL 33146.
