EDITH JACOBS

JACOBS, EDITH, born July 5, 1918 in Cleveland, Ohio to Rose and Max Kanter, passed away Sunday in Miami with her family at her side at the ripe age of 94. Edith was one of six siblings, and moved to Miami with her loving husband Sidney in the early 1950's. She was a wonderful homemaker and worked many years in the office of her brother Dr. Edward Kanter, in Miami Shores. She continued to work in that field, and also volunteered for many organizations, including hospitals, for years after that. Edith's family were early members of the Temple Judea congregation, and she was in the sisterhood. She moved to Aventura in the early 1990's. A devoted mother to her only child, son Stuart, Edith was the last survivor among her brothers and sisters. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Services will be Thursday at 11am at Mt. Nebo Memorial Gardens, 5900 SW 77 Avenue in Miami. In lieu of flowers please send donations to Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center or March of Dimes.
