EDUARDO TEJEDA Obituary

TEJEDA, EDUARDO. Cuco, as he was known to his family and friends, was born July 18, 1922 and died at the age of 88 on August 3, 2010. Together with his wife Adela Gabriel and father Eduardo, now passed, he joined Miami's Cuban exile community in 1968 during the renowned "freedom flights" in 1968. Later, he spent more happy years with his second wife, Josefina Garcia, whom he met in a popular dining hall frequented by senior citizens in east Little Havana, known as "el comedor." There, love flourished, but all too fleeting with Josefina eventually passing on as well. Cuco never forgot his beloved homeland or hometown, Puerto Padre, in the province of Oriente, where he worked for many years in the town post office as a telegraph operator alongside his father. He will be remembered always for his storytelling, his smile and his tenor singing voice. He is survived by his sisters Berta and Otilia Eva and numerous nieces and nephews. Now Cuco joins his mother Andrea (Nena) and youngest sister, Gisela, in heaven. He was laid to rest Woodlawn Park Cemetery North and a mass will be held in his name at St. John Bosco Catholic Church at a later date. May he rest in peace and as was his sister Berta's customary goodbye, "Okay, viejito, que los angeles te arullen." This time, for now and for always. View this Guest Book at www.
