La Sra. Elba Pines falleció el pasado viernes 23 de febrero, 2024 en su residencia en Coral Gables, FL a la edad de 92 años. Hija de Manuel Altuna y Berta González de Altuna, nacida en Caracas, Venezuela el 25 de marzo 1931. Estudió economía, fue profesora de la Universidad Central de Venezuela y ejerció su profesión en el ministerio de fomento en Venezuela. Allí conoció al amor de su vida, Ricardo Pines y se casaron en 1958. En 1980 la pareja y su familia inmigraron a Miami, Florida donde se residenciaron concentrándose en bienes raíces, agricultura y múltiples obras benéficas a través de los años, entre ellas el American Cancer Society y el Cuban Women's Club. Su generosidad y amable personalidad la hacen inolvidable a todos los que la conocieron.
A la Sra. Pines la sobreviven sus hijos: Ricardo Pines, Elizabeth Pines, Gustavo Pines (Elba), Eduardo Pines (Catalina), Corina Pines-Silva (Carlos) y Francisco Pines (Emma); sus nietos: Richard (Nadia) y Melissa Pines (Michael), Sarah (Jonathan), Sophia (Gabriel), y Matthew Pines, Eduardo y Cristina Pines, Carlos, Ana (Max) y Gabriela Silva, Francisco, Nicole y Daniela Pines; y sus bisnietos: Alexandra Pines, Erika y Henry Quintero.
La Sra. Elba Pines vivió una vida ejemplar y plena y todos los que la conocimos la vamos a extrañar inmensamente y llevar en nuestros corazones siempre.
Se celebrará una misa el jueves, 29 de febrero a las 11:00 am en Epiphany Catholic Church, 8235 SW 57th Avenue. Miami, FL 33143.
