HERBERT RAND Obituary

RAND HERBERT. born September 8, 1926 in New York City to Goldie and Edward Rand, went to his maker on April 4, 2012. By his side were his wife Monica and sister-in-law Rose Simmons. He leaves behind his wife Monica, his brother Jay Rand, three children Dawn Goodson, Andy and Christine Rand, Adam Rand, stepchildren Gary Simpson and Janel Simpson, four grandchildren Andrew and Nattiley Goodson, Madison and Rayan Rand. Herbert and his family moved to Miami Beach in 1940. He graduated from Miami Beach Sr. High. He was a World War II Veteran, Navy Corpsman in the Pacific. In 1946 he went to the University of Florida and became a Pharmacist. He worked as a Pharmacist for 45 years. He gave so much of himself to others that until he was 80 years old he gave blood every week. He was honored by the American Red Cross for donating 68 gallons of blood. He kept working until he was 84 years old in the health care industry with his wife Monica at their family owned business. Funeral services will be held at Levitt Weinstein, 3201 N. 72 Ave., Hollywood, FL at 1:00pm Sunday, April 8th. View this Guest Book at www. MiamiHerald.com/obituaries.
