I remember you John, when you came to the publishing house I was working at in 1995. I chose one of your photos to grace the cover of a publication called Vacation Dominican Republic. You had shot this great photo of a huge monument that was bursting with light. Cool stuff. I am grieving your passing and acknowledging your talent! God Speed.

My cousin John, I will miss you dearly. You were a wonderful, talented and kind hearted person. You always managed to light up any room you walked into. I never forget how you went out of your way to fly to Indiana for me to photograph my wedding. There were only 3 members of my family who attended and you made sure to be one of them and that meant more to me than you will ever know. Those photos will be treasured for the rest of my life. Hailey and I love you and miss you. You may be gone but never forgotten. Alesha Bowman

John Russell Patronie R.I.P.

Just stopping by because I am thinking of my nephew John ..

On February 24th, 2013
Family and friends will join together to honor John in a Celebration of Life!

I am not able to attend this wonderful celebration in person, but my mind and sole will be there.

I will never forget my nephew John! I was and I still am in awe of my nephew

He was a Gentle, Kind Hearted Sole who never had a bad word to say about anyone! He always enjoyed life and had the knack to always brighten your day by his presence and graciousness. He had a special eye and view on life and managed to capture life's beauty thru his artistic photography. From childhood to adulthood, John was always a delight to to share time with. I was and I always will be so proud to be his Aunt Brenda

John,   I have watched you grow up from a young child into a wonderful, gentle, kind hearted and very talented young man. I treasure the memories I have of you. The family times we spent together. You are so loved and so missed. Those we hold closest to our hearts never truly leave us. They live on in the kindness they have shared and the love they brought into our lives.

John,
Thank you for being you. You were always so gifted, I was in awe of you hence your nickname "Nikon". The camera owed you a debt of thanks. Your sweetness and loving character will always be remembered.

John oh John, I still can't believe you're gone. It seems like only yesterday that I saw you at the MBSH Rock Ensemble 40th anniversary, at which you captured some of the most beautiful images with your amazing camera. You lived a life filled to the brim with light, love, laughter, soul, joy, beauty. Like Mary Menendez put it, "You were always seeking the perfect light, and now you ARE a light." Your physical body may be gone, but your spirit will live on forever, in your photos, in our memories, in our hearts, and all around us. Thank you for shining your light while you were in the physical realm, and now from the spiritual realm. We love you homeboy

I spent much of my youth with John and we reconnected recently. We had dinner at my house and John took pictures of my family and beloved mother shortly before her passing and his. He also was able to replace a picture of me in my youth which was over 35 years old and taken by him. I misplaced the original which was one of my very favorites of that time in my life. John still preserved the negative all these years later and knew exactly which one I was referencing, he made me a copy. The picture of my youth which was replaced and the pictures of my family and beloved mother are so very special to me and even more so because they were taken by the very best photographer ever. It was like the span of time between our youth and adult years never existed. I am so grateful for knowing you, experiencing your passion for life and your art. John I think of you often and am ever so grateful to have been fortunate enough to be your friend. Your example serves as an inspiration to me. See you on the other side one of these days my friend! Much Peace, Many Smiles and Lots and Lots of Love!!!!

John was a Gentle Sole! He never said an unkind word about anyone. He was always gracious and polite. He loved life and photography! I will never forget his visits to me during the time when I worked as the Director of Food and Nutrition Services at SSH on Miami Beach. John loved to stop by from time to time and have lunch with me. He loved the Tuna Sandwiches that I would make for him. I remember one time when he stopped by and asked me If it was possible if I make him another one of (His Words): "Your Lovely Delicious Tuna Fish Sandwiches" I was so amazed by his politeness and graciousness! He often would come by with his portfolio and would show me some of his most beautiful artful photography. I was so proud of him. He was Tall, Handsome, had a Great Personality and I Loved All His Visits. Sister Jorain came to my home Christmas year 2011 with John and family. That was the first Christmas that I didn't worry or take out my camera because John came with all his camera equipment and took all of our pictures. Thank you John for all the wonderful memories you left me with! You will always be in my heart and you will never be forgotten! ... Aunt Brenda

John was one of the kindest being I met in my life. He was also a very inspired and talented Artist...I always told him that he was the best architectural photographer to my point of view. He had a sense of lighting like no other.

I remember also him cooking me some pasta and asking me if I liked it "hot", I answered "a little"...then when the pasta was prepared it smelled delicious, was delicious...and 5 minutes after starting to eat I felt my tongue on fire...I couldn't eat as much as I wished for that reason...

John will be missed by me and many others and I am sure he is at the side of the Creator watching us struggling with recovery from this loss.
We owe him to be happy and be as good as he was...
