WOOD, MANUELA E., of West Orange, NJ, died on Monday, July 6, 2009 at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2009 at Saint Thomas The Apostle Church, 7377 SW 64th Street, Miami, FL, at 11:00 AM. Letters of condolence may be posted at danglerfuneralhome.com. Ms. Wood was born and raised in Cuba until the age of 14. She then lived in Miami and Newark before moving to West Orange 20 years ago. She was an ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher working at Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. School in Newark for 34 years before retiring in 2006. Ms. Wood was a member and Treasurer of the New Jersey Bulldog Club for 10 years and a member of the Ann Street Home and School Association in Newark. She was also a member of the Newark Teacher's Union for 34 years. Ms. Wood was the beloved daughter of Rafaela E. and the late René F. Wood. Cherished sister of René and his wife Magda Wood and Linda and her husband Edward Richardson. Loving Aunt of Christian, Steven, Melissa, Damian and Jaclyn. She is also survived by many other relatives and dear friends in New Jersey as well as Florida.
