Marie Gentile

GENTILE, MARIE Marie Gentile of Aventura, Fla passed away peacefully on June 16, 2014. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Thomas Gentile. She is survived by her daughter Terri Caudle (Frank), son Dr. John Gentile (Joanne), grandchildren Marisa Osborn (Ken), H.F. Caudle (Barbie) and Jeremy Gentile and her 3 great-grandchildren Matthew, Alyssa and Katelyn. Marie was a native New Yorker moving to Miami in l950 where she raised her 2 children. She was active in her church as her faith was very important to her. She loved to dance and was an avid bowler and a member of the Daughters of Isabella organization. She was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great grandmother, taking pride in their accomplishments. She was always ready to lend an ear to listen to their ideas and feelings and of course she attended many football games, volleyball games, plays and dance recitals. For the last 4 years she lived at the Imperial Club in Aventura and developed many new friendships and even learned how to play blackjack at 94, proving you are never too old to learn something new. She had a quick mind and enjoyed playing word games. Although she was short in stature, she had a big heart and a great capacity for love. She never failed to offer a kind word and a friendly greeting to anyone she met. As she always said 'It costs nothing to be nice". She will be missed dearly by her family and many friends. Services will be held at St Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Miami Shores, Florida on Thursday June 19 at noon.
