I want everyone to know that I had the pleasure of working with Matt Gribble as a co-worker. The main office of Hasbro is in Pawtucket, RI., but the many phone conversations that we had these last five years made us fast friends. I will miss him and his sense of humor. Jeannie, Trey, Lenore and the Gribble family. It is with great sadness, shock and sorrow, I'm writing this after hearing of this tragedy. Matt and I swam together for years and roomed together the summer he broke the world record. He was an awesome swimmer and great friend. He will be sorely missed. My deepest sympathies to the Gribble family.

I never knew Matt personally-but my brother Lane Hudson swan with Matt on the UM team and always spoke highly of Matt and I always felt like I knew him It was with great shock that I learned of his death. I recently lost my 32 year old son so I truly feel your pain and wish I could ease yours. Just know that Matt swims with the angels now and will be his sons personal guardian angel - always walking with him. We are shocked at the sad news of Matthew's accident. How tragic. I lost my grandson recently (Navy), and we share your grief immensely. We wish we could express our sorrrow personally. Only heard of it through Fabe Saxe.

It is with a heavy heart that we are mourning the loss of one of our brothers. Matt was a good man with a competitive fire that was unmatched. All of his UM teammates admired him and we are grieving for his family, his loved ones and for his son, Trey. We love you Matt and you will be in our hearts and prayers forever.

Saddened to hear the news of Matt's passing. I swam with Matt and the rest of the Gribble family at SWSC and at Hurricanes Swim Club. I will always remember him as one of the mosted talented swimmers of our time. You will be missed my friend.
