MILTON RUBIN Obituary

RUBIN, MILTON H. June 4, 1923 - May 24, 2010 A natural leader, passionate and loyal family man, we have sadly lost our beloved Milt at age 87. Together with his wife of 60 years, Eleanor, he created a full and rewarding life -sharing his keen intelligence, work ethic, and good fortune with his close circle of friends and family. Whether it was building a "special home" in the Keys to share with the family on weekends, or taking the clan on hour- long car rides across county lines to "try out a new restaurant" - Milt's approach to life was always energetic and enthusiastic. In the early 60's, Milt moved his young family from New Jersey to start life anew in Florida -a place he loved and first visited during his stint in the Coast Guard looking for enemy subs to "explode" off the coast of Miami Beach! Soon Dependable Printing was born - and the relationships he nurtured during those "Dependable" years took on the importance of a second extended family. Many of those friendships lasted a lifetime. Milt is survived by his wife "El", daughter Gayle Kaplan and son-in-law Kirk, daughter Jill Lopilato and son-in-law Jim, son Richard Rubin, his beloved sister Laura Rubin, and grandchildren Philip, Alex and Lauren Lopilato and Ian Kaplan. The family requests any donations be sent to the Hospice of your choice. Milt will be buried Fri, May 28, at noon at Levitt-Weinstein Beth David Chapel, 3201 NW 72 Ave, Hollywood, FL. 954.963.2400. To Gayle and entire family. Milt was one of my favorite printers and business friends; we worked together many years. Honest, sincere, and always dependable. Also enjoyed so much the years you were my salesperson and friend and with Milt's assistance we printed some remarkable pieces. Really sorry. Gloria Schmall

Dear Ellie, Gayle, Jill and Richard, Milt Rubin was a wonderful man with a heart of gold whom I met in 1975 while working in the banking business. I worked with him for five years before my good friend John Kane and I decided to start our own business. Milt was instrumental in getting us going. He did layouts, helped with photography and printed everything to get our company started and never charged us a penny. In addition he gave me invaluable advise on owning your own business. At Equitrac we continued to work together until I retired in 2002. After 27 years of working together your father still called me for lunch and kept up with my retirement. Milt was a great man and I will sorely miss him. My deepest condolonces to Ellie and the children. There will never be another like him.
