Newton Johnson
JOHNSON, NEWTON (EVAN), 57, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, September 2, 2007. He was born on February 8, 1950 in St. Ann, Jamaica. Evan left Jamaica and moved to Canada. He soon relocated to Wilmington, Delaware. In 1972 he made Miami, FL his permanent home. Evan was employed by Miami-Dade Transit Authority as a bus operator for 26 years until he retired. A quiet kind of fellow, Evan loved and lived for his family. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 35 years Mary, 2 sons Wayne (Ayanna) and Christopher, 4 grandchildren, 9 brothers and sisters, very dear sisters- & brothers-in-law and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. There will be a viewing Friday, September 7, 2007 (today) from 6:30pm to 8pm at Pentecostal Tabernacle. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 8, 2007 at 11AM at Pentecostal Tabernacle, 18415 NW 7th Ave., Miami, FL 33169. (305) 653-9696.
