Miami, Florida - Renate Ottenberg, 84, of Miami, Florida passed away in hospice on 13 September 2021.
Renate was born in Lindenbach, Germany to parents Artur and Herta Hahn on 21 Sep 1936. She excelled in the secretarial trade and quickly advanced to managerial positions. In 1957 she married Guenther Ottenberg in Hamburg, Germany. They emigrated to Miami, Florida in 1961. Renate's administrative skills were put to work in the banking industry where she would advance from bank teller to branch manager.
Renate was preceded in death by her husband, Guenther.
She is survived by son Marc; son and daughter-in-law, Matthias and Lois; sister, Susan; brother, Armin and grandchildren, Eric, Dylan and Audrey.
A remembrance will be held on Monday, 20 Sept 2021 from 10AM to 1PM at van Orsdel Funeral Home (11220 N Kendall Drive)

My most heartfelt condolences Matthias and Marc. I have fond memories of being with Renate in Miami on our family trips to Florida. She always welcomed all of us with open arms, generosity and good spirits. I wish you love, courage and peace in your hearts as you integrate her absence into your lives. Thinking of you!
