Miami, Florida - White, Robert "Robin" Anderson passed away on May 24, 2022 at the age of 93.
Robin was born in Norfolk, Virginia on December 12, 1928 to Warren Thomas White and Clara Anderson.
Robin was graduated from Virginia Military Institute (with academic stars), Class of 1950-B. While attending VMI, Robin met Alice Peyton Stansbury, the love of his life, who was attending Sweet Briar College. They were married May 19, 1950. Following VMI, Robin was called to active duty in the United States Army during the Korean War. He thereafter attended the University of Virginial Law School, where he was a member of the law review.
Upon his graduation from law school, Robin and Alice followed his brother, Richard, to Miami, Florida. Robin rose to become managing partner with the law firm of Mershon, Sawyer, Johnston, Dunwody and Cole. Robin subsequently became a founding member of Dunwody, White and Landon, P.A. At different times over a distinguished career, Robin served as President of the Dade County Bar Association and Orange Bowl Committee, Chairman of the Board of the Children's Home Society, and in many other civic and charitable organizations.
With quiet generosity and compassion, Robin and Alice touched the lives of friends, family, and others too numerous to list. Many will remember that they were simply fun to be with. We are grateful to all who participated in and contributed to the richness of their lives.
Robin is survived by his children, Warren Thomas White II and wife Lu, Peyton White Lumpkin and husband Tom, Charles Stansbury White and wife Joi, Preston W. Daggett and husband Arie, and grandchildren Alexandra Peyton Lumpkin, Thomas D. Lumpkin III, Crissy White Beach, Lina Victoria White, Isabella Taylor White, and Robert (Bobby) Anderson White II. Robin is also survived by his brother David Wesley White, M.D., and his wife, Betsy.
He was predeceased by his brothers Warren Thomas White, Jr. and Richard Marion White, sister Nancy Ann White Wallace, son-in-law Walter Daggett, and fellow VMI graduate and lifelong friend, Paul A. Louis.
