Miami, Florida - Roberta Womack David was born in Nashville, TN, graduated from East Nashville High School, and received her bachelor's degree in music education from Peabody College (now Vanderbilt Peabody College of Education and Human Development). She married Dr. Noble David of Jacksonville, FL, in 1959; the couple resided in Coral Gables from 1967 until their divorce in 1992.

Over the years, Roberta taught music at several public and private schools in the Miami area, including Holy Cross Academy, touching the lives of hundreds of students from preschool to high school. She sang in the chorus of the Greater Miami Opera (now Florida Grand Opera), was a member of Sigma Alpha Iota International Music Fraternity, and enjoyed mentoring younger singers and other musicians. Aside from music, her interests included genealogy, foreign languages, and travel.

Roberta is survived by her four children: Esther David, of Merrick, NY; Emily Wilson, of Colchester, VT; and Jonathan and Paul David, both of Miami; and by her brother, Col. Richard Hugh Womack (ret.), of Warner Robins, GA; eight grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends too many to count. She was predeceased in 2011 by her former husband.

Her loved ones are grateful for the blessing of Roberta's life. A private memorial service is planned.
