I was blessed to know Tera the last 4 yrs. of her beautiful life and I am a better person because of her. I can still hear her sweet voice and see her beautiful smile when I close my eyes. I will strive each day to be more like Tera, loving. She was the most loving person I've ever known and God had his hand on Tera her entire life. I have 2 small children and can only pray they turn out half the person Tera was. I miss you Tera........... I'll keep on smiling, just for you.

I've only had the chance to meet Tera once and boy what a lasting impression she has on me. I've learned and heard many stories over time and she was an angel to everyone. She had the charisma, charm and smile to heal everyone she came in contact with. What an inspiration she is to all of us. There's not a day that goes by that I don't think of her and all of her family. I believe she's looking down on us and saying "Don't worry, I'm still playing the game, it's more fun than ever and I'm ok!!" We all know how much she loved the game. Tera, you are missed tremendously by all of your family and friends and we know that you are truly God's Angel.

Where to begin? Tera is the kind of person you would like to be and the one that you want to be around. I for one am very proud of Tera and her accomplishments. She never strived to be just average. I along with everyone that she has ever known wanted to be around the most loving, touching person as often as possible. I remember when I was younger and Tera was just sprouting teeth, she had bitten me and I couldn't believe that she had done that. I know now, that was her "Game face". I didn't do what it was that she wanted so she showed me what it was that she wanted.
My son which is 10yrs old, looked up to her more than I could have ever imagined. The moment I told him about the accident, it seemed that he had lost his hero. See he is big into baseball and couldn't believe that a girl could strike him out. Well, she was hesitant about pitching to him, but he really wanted it. After a couple of pitches that he could barely see, he was a believer. From that day forward she was everything to him. After I finished telling him of the accident, he looked down at the ground for a few minutes, then he looked up at me with waterfilled eyes and said, thats not fair. I told him that she's in a better place now, but being 10yrs old that doesn't register. He then told me that she can't play ball with us anymore, that every game he plays in, he will play for and with her..
Just one of many ways that Tera has touched our lives.
Tera, we all LOVE YOU!

I will never forget the telephone call I received about the tragic news of the death of our beautiful and talented grandaughter Tera Marie. She was the light of our lives. We feel so fortunate to have had her for 22 years. I can see her organizing a baseball team in heaven. She loved the game so much. I know she is in heaven and loved by God. I also know he had a reason for taking her from us. God Bless our son Terry, daughter-in-law Jami and our grandson Zachary.

DECEMBER NIGHT
Oh tender child in heaven above
We gather tonight to send our love.
See our candles down here below
Hear our voices tell how much we miss you so.
Each tiny flame that you see
Each one speaks of a memory.
Tender child both young and old
Your spirit lives on in our stories told.
Look down now and see the glow of the lights of our candles here below
And as we gaze into heaven above
Then we will exchange our prayers of love.
Tender child this December night
In honor of you our candles light
Burning gently into this night.
A POEM FOR TERA AS SHE LOOKS DOWN UPON US.

I can't remember a time in my life, when i didn't know Tera. As a child, she was my neighbor. As a young adult, she was my friend. An amazing person was taken from this world, but not without leaving an enormous impact first. There were big plans for Tera, and only the lord knew what they were. Im so sorry for all of those experiencing this loss.

I am terribly saddened by the loss of such a beautiful person. Your entire family is in my thoughts and prayers every day as you deal with this tragedy. I went to school with Tera at JSU. Every time that I saw Tera she was smiling...could simply brighten up a room with her presence. She truly was an amazing individual...always gave 200% in every aspect of her life! I'm so sad to lose such an amazing person. I just know that Tera is watching over us all...God Bless You!

I played with Tera on the Florida Mustangs and I will never forget her bouncing to the mound. She always had "the eye of the tiger". Her smile, laugh, and great heart will always be with me. She was a great teammate, daughter and friend...and most of all a great pin trader! I will never forget those fun summers, and I wish I was there to show how much Tera meant to me. My thoughts and prayers are with Terry, Jami, Zach and all her family..

Knowing Tera was a blessing. I knew Tera because of my involvement as Cocky at JSU. I remember working with her and Coach McGinnis for the Fan Day in Spring of 2002. Then I grew to know her as a fellow student when we would pass each other around campus. She was so caring, full of life, and the glue to the softball team. As an outsider, one could tell that she took care of her teammates and loved playing the game. I learned of the accident on Thursday morning, driving to work. Your daughter was such a great person and player that as I walked into the school, my players on my ball team walked up and were upset over her death. They looked forward to seeing her pitch again this year. Many of them cried that day. She touched so many lives. God must have needed another Angel in His presence, I can't think of a better one than Tera. God bless!

We are saddened to learn of Tera's untimely passing. Our granddaughter was her teammate at JSU during the 2001 season. We were impressed by Tera's dignity and poise as well as her athletic ability. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.

On her very first night of pitching lessons, my daughter, Cassidy was not sure if this was something she was suited for. Like many of the girls her age(9), she wanted to try it out. Well........she met Tera and that was IT! She was hooked! Twice a week during the summer while Tera was here, Cassidy lived for those nights when she could practice and Tera would work with her and show her all kinds of neat things. Cass would try to imitate her "drag line" and had it down well enough to show Tera on X-mas break.
We are all heartbroken and continue to hold the images of Tera in our minds. Cassidy was keeping one of the pics from the paper in her pocket until it was becoming tattered.
The world has lost a true gem. She had the ability to capture children with her sweet voice and disposition.
Tonight we saw an out of state plate (NH)that simply read TERA. It was some kind of sign that she is ok and she will let us know in her way.
Please accept our heartfelt condolences. Maybe somehow these guest enteries will add some peace and comfort to a situation that will never make sense.

I am very disheartened to learn of the loss of such a wonderful person. I played softball with her at American Heritage. She was an inspiration to all of us on the team and definately for me. I know that she is in a better place but she will be missed greatly. My prayers go out to the Ross family.

Her gentle spirit and her loving heart made it vividly clear to all that knew her, she was special. Tera took time to care and love others when they may have been overlooked. Tera was willing to open her heart up and share her thoughts and I am thankful she expressed what mattered to her most. I will treasure our time together forever. She truly shared so much of herself with others and that is why she is loved and will be missed by so many! This world was a better place because of her! She was five or six when visiting Ohio and was prancing outside in the snow at her Grandpa's catching snowflakes on her tongue, spinning around with her arms opened wide to the heavens, her eyes lifted upward and giggling. I am thankful she was a part of our lives and we will miss her. With Love and Prayers, Aunt Linda and family

My family and I would like to tell you that your are in our thoughts and prayers. We only got to meet Tera once when we took our softball team to JSU to watch the girls play. Tera took about 30 minutes after the game to talk to our daughter who also pitches. That made a lasting impression on us as well as our daughter Shannon. Tera will be deeply missed not only as a person but also as a tremendous athlete. She gave young girls around this area someone to look up to.

I was so saddened to learn of the passing of this sweetheart of a person. Even though I had not had the opportunity to visit with Terry, Jami and the kids since their visit to Garrettsville several years ago, I remember her beautiful and warm smile and the closeness of the Ross family. My heartfelt sympathy and prayers go out to you in this most tragic loss.

It's true, Jacksonville State University lost a very talented softball pitcher. Who cares? What JSU really lost was one of the warmest, kindest, most sincere human beings this world has ever known. The only time she wasn't smiling was when she was on the mound. With ball in hand, and toe on the rubber, she was a bulldog. The rest of the time, Tera wore one gigantic smile. I imagine she's doing that right now.
