Gainesville, Georgia - Tom Smith, 83 passed away suddenly on May 1st at his home in Gainesville, Ga. Mr. Smith was born on November 26th, 1938, in Miami, Florida to Zodie and Ollis Smith.
He had a successful career as a business owner in construction and shipping. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers. Also, a proud member of the Mahi Shrine Temple and Royal Order of Jesters Court 88 in Miami, Fl. He married Mildred Helms on June 15th, 1963. They raised 2 sons Thomas and Richard.
Tom and Mildred retired to Gainesville, GA in 2006. He is survived by his wife Mildred, their two sons and wife's (Grace & Holly) and 6 grandchildren (Brittany, Jordan, Meghan, Saylor, Sutton and his main man, Connor).
Visitation will be Saturday May 7, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Little & Davenport Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Shriners International at: shrinershospitalsforchildren.org
