As a professional educator, Vandye taught communication classes at the University of California, Los Angeles, Santa Monica College, Long Beach College, College of Western Idaho, and the University of Phoenix. Vandye was unanimously elected by the U. of Phoenix graduating seniors and the faculty to deliver their final commencement address.

Vandye Forrester taught a communications class I attended while getting my associate's. Not only do I have fond memories and lessons from this class, but I met my wife and we bonded over some of the assignments that Professor Forrester gave us. He was a wonderful man, and truly had a great sense of humor and a vast amount of knowledge. He will be missed!
