June 30, 1970 - May 15, 2023
Miami, Florida - Xavier L. Wilson passed away on May 15, 2023 after a short illness. Born in Great Falls, SC on June 30, 1970, he attended Great Falls High School and East Tennessee State University. Although he had wanted to be a medical illustrator, he had an extensive career in human resources. He worked as a recruiter for several medical staffing firms before taking a position as the human resources staffer at the FIU College of Medicine as it was opening. He then worked as the benefits coordinator at Florida Memorial University, before becoming disabled. He was intensely interested and knowledgeable in fashion, and always dressed accordingly. His quick wit and indomitable spirit will be greatly missed. He leaves behind his partner of twenty years, William Hopper, his mother, Betty Jean Wilson, his brother, Gabriel, his sisters Cassandra, Vaughan, and Tammy, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, especially his devoted nephew, Jayce.
Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, June 3, 2023 at Trinity Cathedral, 464 NE 16th Street in Miami, where he will be interred. The service will also be streamed on the Cathedral's Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/TrinityMiami/videos, where it will be available afterwards.

This year Mother´s Day hit different...every year you texted, called or posted on FB and when my memories came up on FB all my messages from you came up and it reminded me of how much you loved me and how special you were as you always thought of me no matter what. Texting you and only to check FB to see I will no longer hear your voice or get your texts. I´m heartbroken. 20 plus years of pure genuine friendship. I loved you so much and am so thankful for your friendship. I can´t believe I didn´t know. Can´t believe I will never see or hear you again. Your were one of a kind. So special and I will forever remember all the wonderful times we shared and just how special you were. Rest in peace my friend. I will never forget you.

The news of Xavier passing hurts, deeply. He was such a beautiful soul. Xavier was someone who could change the energy of the room simply by showing up. He shined. Xavier and I spent a lot of time together when he lived in Johnson City. He always held space for me no matter the situation. He was someone I always admired and looked to for guidance. We always found laughter and love in the smallest things. I will miss his quick wit, his fashion advice, his kindness, his laughter, our conversations and his love. He will never be forgotten. My condolences to his family.
