CLIO — Linda Mumford Hall, age 81 of Clio, passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2025, at her residence.
Linda was born July 23, 1943, in the Dunbar section of Marlboro County. She was the daughter of Lila Hyatt Mumford and the late Albert Chesley Mumford, Sr. Linda was employed by the South Carolina Solicitor's Office for over twenty years. She served as Director of Pre-Trial Intervention and provided courtroom support. After retirement, Linda supported her husband in the ministry. Linda was a member of her home church, Hebron United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School and served as church treasurer. She also was the Assistant Director of Lay Speaking Ministry with her husband for the Marion District. Linda was an avid reader. She also enjoyed feeding and watching hummingbirds and red birds. Most of all, Linda enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her pride and joy, her grandchildren, (Hyatt and McKay).
In addition to her father, Linda was preceded in death by a daughter, Ameta Lynn Hall; a brother, Albert Chesley Mumford, Jr.; sisters, Lucille Mumford Wilson and Barbara Mumford Hubbard.
Linda is survived by her husband of sixty-one years (celebrated April 5), Rev. Daniel McKay "Sonny" Hall; a son, Chesley McKay Hall and wife Courtney of Charleston; grandchildren, Adalyn Hyatt Hall and Chesley McKay Hall, Jr.; her mother, Lila Hyatt Mumford of Clio; a brother-in-law, Windy Hubbard of Clio; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members also survive.
A visitation and funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2025, visitation time from 2-3 p.m. with service beginning at 3 p.m. at Burroughs Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow with grave service in the Hebron Cemetery. Online condolences can be made to the family at www.bfhbennettsville.com.
