Dylan Wheat Obituary

Dylan Raye Wheat, 21, of Klamath Falls, Ore., went home to be with our Father in Heaven on Jan. 6, 2017. Dylan was born on Sept. 16, 1995, in Klamath Falls, the son of Gregg and Barbara Wheat. He attended local schools and graduated from Henley High School in 2014. Dylan's life should be celebrated for the genuine kindness, love and compassion he showed to everyone who met him. He always wanted everyone to be happy and went out of his way to do special things for friends and family. Dylan was always there to help someone in a time of need as his life was one of unselfishness and service to others. Dylan's passion for working out was apparent to all who knew him. His work ethic was inspiring and motivated others. He also enjoyed listening to various types of music, watching movies, playing basketball and hunting. Dylan enjoyed spending quality time with his family and close friends. He enjoyed family vacations and especially enjoyed playing games during family gatherings. Dylan's smile would light up any room and he always brought love, laughter and joy into our hearts. Dylan's love for his family will never be forgotten. At 16 years old, he became a proud member of the Klamath Falls Police Explorer program. He was passionate about the program and enjoyed spending time around the members of the police department, his law enforcement family. At 19 years old, Dylan's passion for public service lead him into a career with the Klamath County Emergency Communication District as a 911 dispatcher, where his family grew to include his 911 brothers and sisters. His dedication and hard work were evident and appreciated by those who depended on him. Dylan's ultimate goal in his life was to stand beside his father as a police officer with the Klamath Falls Police Department. Dylan is survived by his parents, Gregg and Barbara Wheat; his sisters, Ashley Roncevich and Lindsay Manfull; and brother-in-law, Mark Manfull. He also leaves behind his grandparents, Larry and Sherry Wheat; his aunt and uncle, Andrea and Jeff Hampson; cousins, Ryan and Jessica Hampson and Kayla and Brandon Nelson; and numerous other aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and close friends. Dylan touched the lives of many people in so many ways, he will be dearly missed. A memorial service will be held in Faith Tabernacle Assembly of God, 2610 Shasta Way, at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017. Davenport's Chapel of the Good Shepherd, directors, at 2680 Memorial Drive, Klamath Falls, OR 97601, 541-883-3458, is in charge of the arrangements.

Dylan was very special to all who were blessed to know him. He was a happy, joyful kid, full of energy and full of fun who grew into an outstanding young man, just like his dad. I am beyond proud to call Dylan my one and only little brother. I am blessed to have spent 15 years with Dylan and have so many wonderful memories that I will carry with me for the rest of my days. Thank you Jesus for your sacrifice in which we exchange our cross for a crown and can live for eternity in glory with my brother Dylan!

It was a pleasure being able as a neighbor to watch him grow into the fine young man he became. We wish we had words to comfort you at this time, but there are none that express our sorrow.
