Edmond Andersch Obituary

Adored by many, Edmond Walter "Ed" Andersch went home to be with the Lord in heaven on March 2, 2023.

Ed was born in Hollywood, CA on June 11, 1934, and resided in Klamath Falls his entire life.

Ed graduated from Sacred Heart Academy and remained a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church until his passing. Ed was a devout Catholic, who never missed attending mass unless he was physically unable to, always finding a Catholic church and attending mass even when he was out of town.

Ed served in the Air National Guard and attended OIT. Ed married the love of his life, Barbara and together they raised 7 children and were married for 66 years.

An avid outdoorsman, Ed loved the joys, activities and fellowship with family and friends that the great outdoors provides. He loved spending quality time on adventures with his family and friends, whether fishing, hunting, camping or going on family trips. Ed would frequently catch the biggest fish or harvest the biggest buck and would have a great story to tell.

Ed was a salesman and entrepreneur at heart. Following many years at Cascade Home Furnishings, Ed got to realize a dream as he and Barbara founded Andersch Home Furnishings. Ed always put an emphasis with his employees to treat the customer the way they would want to be treated.

Ed was a model of how to be a great husband, father, grandfather, and person. He was selfless, kind, and loyal. He was one of a kind and will be missed terribly.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents Walter & Genevieve Andersch, wife Barbara, son Steven, sister Rosemary White, brother Bob Andersch, and grandson Justin Andersch.

Ed is survived by his sister Rudy Igl, brother Jerry Warren (Susan), sister-in-law Hedy Andersch, brother-in-law Gary Hedlund (Mary Beth), children Phil Andersch (Brenda), Tom Andersch (Teri), John Andersch (Mary), Ken Andersch (Dana), Sheryl Coe (Steve), Pat Andersch, 16 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the rosary at 10:30 and the funeral mass at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St Jude Children's Hospital.

Dear Andersch Family, thank you for sharing your dad´s story he definitely was and will always be an inspiration for his faith . I think it helped remind all of us that we need hope, faith, family and love in a time when the world seems to have forgotten those values. I will always remember how your mom and dad seemed to just laugh at some of the craziness. (Or was it our antics?) It was fun to share a few moments from our past and the old neighborhood. I would have stayed longer, but I thought I might get through the mountains before it got icy and decided my time was better spent with my dad! Love y´all

Ken, Sheryl, and the rest of the whole hee haw gang:

My thoughts and prayers are with the family, and all those lives that were blessed to be touched by your parents.

I wanted to attend your father's service today, but I am getting over a bout of COVID (again); didn't want to risk infecting others in case I am still contagious.

Much love to you all, and take gentle care.

Ed and Barbara were kind, friendly and a beloved couple as I remember them, once you met them they never forgot you.

They were incredibly proud of their family as well they should be. Knowing many of their children made it apparent they were wonderful roll models.

I remember that both my Dad, husband & brother-in-law worked at the store -delivering. A lot of the firemen thru the years worked there. Always a Family feeling between the owners & workers. Sorry to hear of your loss. Prayers!
