Florence Greear Obituary

Florence "Sis" Greear was born on Sept. 17, 1933, to Mike and Eulene McAuliffe and died at her home with family by her side on April 20, 2012, of natural causes.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Phleet and Teresa Greear of Corsicana, Texas; daughter and son-in-law Pam and Dwayne Silcox of Klamath Falls; grandchildren Mathew Silcox and wife Kristen and Jennifer Silcox, both of Klamath Falls, Annie Greear of Corsicana; great-grandson Kristopher Alan Dean Silcox of Klamath Falls; and sisters and brothers-in-law Ellen and Gary Boling of Florida and Patricia and Rick Nelson of California.
She was preceded in death by Dean Greear, her husband of 50 years, brothers and sisters-in-law Dan and Shirley McAuliffe and Tom and Sylvia McAuliffe, and parents Mike and Eulene McAuliffe.
She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy and worked for Soran's Poultry Plant in Klamath Falls prior to her marriage on Nov. 2, 1957, to Dean in Reno, Nev. She lived the majority of her life near her parents, brothers, sisters and children in Klamath Falls, Fort Klamath and Chiloquin and a few years in Saint Anthony, Idaho. After her children were born, she remained a stay-at-home mom and grandmother to Mathew and Jennifer.
Florence was an avid bingo player and spent many years with her friends at the senior center either playing bingo or cards or sharing favorite treats. You could never leave her home without first trying something she made or looking at what she had just found.
She felt very fortunate to have made a trip for a family reunion four years ago to Ireland, where she visited her father's childhood home and spent time with family. She always referred to it as a trip of a lifetime.
Per her request, there will be no funeral service, but you may donate to Easter Seals in her memory from her childhood polio. The address is Easter Seals of Oregon, 5757 SW Macadam Ave., Portland, OR 97239, and the phone number is 503-228-5108.
Thank you, mom, for always taking care of things for us even up to the end. We love you.

Pam, Your mother was an awesome person. We enjoyed her company at the senior center at bingo. She was a friend to all of us and very kind. Everytime we went to her house we always left with some great brownies or cookies that she had made. We will miss her. Our prayers are with the family
