Katherine Anne Welch

Katherine Anne Welch died on Oct. 15, 2009, at the age 63 in Klamath Falls, Ore. A Service of Tribute and Love will be held Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Eternal Hills Chapel.
Katherine Welch was born in Lansing, Mich., to Lawrence and Lucille (Faulk) Griffith on Sept. 7, 1946. She grew up in Southern California after high school graduation and at the age of 17 she moved with her family to Klamath Falls, Ore. when her father took a new job. She later moved to Beatty, Ore., where she raised her three daughters and enjoyed living there very much. She returned to Klamath Falls in 1988, and on Aug. 6, 1996, she married Gary Welch at the First Church of God.  She worked for seven years as a bookkeeper at the Overhead Door Co. Katherine enjoyed gardening and working with computers. She was very much a self-starter and loved doing projects. Her favorite events were holidays and any time spent with her husband, kids and grandkids. She also loved collecting elephants and woodworking.
She is survived by her husband, Gary Welch of Klamath Falls; daughters, Donna Ekman of McMinnville, Ore., and Ann Day of Klamath Falls; daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Shawn Atkinson of Las Vegas, Nev.; step-sons and their wives, Gary and Brenda Welch, and Ryan and Brittania Welch of Klamath Falls; step-daughter and husband, Annette and Al Pierce of Klamath Falls; grandchildren Mandi, Alex and Wade Matwich, Elizabeth Lawson, Conrad Qualls, Megan and Kyler Atkinson and Michael, Bradley, Danny and Sammy Saltenberger; great-grandkids Tek Lawson and Justin Saltenberger; and sisters Ginny Hernandez, Carol Heatly and Lucy Diaz.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband Duane Day.
