Patrick Cavanaugh Obituary

Patrick H. Cavanaugh was born Nov. 23, 1940, in Bellingham, Wash. His parents and brother moved to Beaverton, Oregon, where he grew up and attended Beaverton High School.

He served in the Naval Air Reserves as a flight engineer in the Lockheed P2V-7 Neptune aircraft for many years.

In 1973, he married Carol Drew. In 1976, they moved to Klamath Falls, Oregon, and became partners in the ownership of the family business, Drew's Manstore. Patrick's entrepreneurial spirit led him to expanding the business by selling boots and commissary supplies to firefighters residing in state and federal fire camps during forest fires in Oregon, California, Washington and adjoining states. He also was an early adopter of .com digital sales.

Pat loved being in the outdoors to hunt, fish and golf. He also derived much pleasure from gardening, barbecuing, watching all sports (especially his grandkids' games), and traveling in the motorhome and abroad. He was devoted to his wife and six children.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Cavanaugh; his daughters, Shelly Deckard and Heather Cavanaugh; his sons, Jim Cavanaugh, Drew Cavanaugh, Casey Cavanaugh and Darren Cavanaugh; and his five grandchildren.

I still have the gentleman jacket that I bought from Drew's Manstore. Mr. Cavanaugh had me pick one out and try it on, then he picked one out and yes I bought the one he picked. What a wonderful store from back in the day, Klamath could use Drews Manstore now. A great person glad to have known him.
