Donald Gipson Obituary

GIPSON, Donald Ray, age 65 of Winchester, passed away on Friday, July 22, 2016, at his residence. A native of Franklin County, he was born on Aug. 31, 1950, to the late Vernie and Jewel Teters Gipson. Donald was a member of the Decherd Church of God. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert Lee Gipson, Jessie Billy Gipson, Jerry Gipson, Terry Gipson, Gene Douglas Gipson and James Harold "Wayne" Gipson; sisters, Verna Mae Stephens Gipson, and Betty Jo Walker Gipson; nephew, Roger Walker; and special friend, Susie Williams. Donald is survived by a brother, Michael Gipson of Winchester; sister-in-law, Kay Hill of Decherd; niece, Angel Brewer of Winchester; nephew, Michael Glenn (Lisa Stagg) Gipson Jr. of Winchester; great-nephews, Jacob Brewer, Dellon Gipson, Nathan Gipson and Gavin Gipson; great-nieces, Jayla Brewer and Janell Jewell Gipson; and friend, Kay Garner of Winchester. Visitation with the family was held on Saturday, July 23, 2016, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home in Winchester. Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, July 24, 2016, at 4 p.m. in the Moore-Cortner Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Timothy Geer officiating. Interment followed in the at Gum Creek Cemetery.
