Velma Lowe

LOWE, Velma Turner, (Jan. 17, 1942 - April 11, 2016), age 74, passed away on Monday, April 11, 2016, at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga with her family by her bedside. She was born in Coalmont on Jan. 17, 1942, to Marlin Turner and Margie Sweeten Turner who preceded her in death along with her husband, Kenny Lowe. She was of the Church of God faith. She is survived by her sons, Tim (Lisa) Orange and Jack Lowe; daughter, Sherri (Terry) Caldwell; brothers, Bobby Turner, Ray and Charles Tipton; twin sister, Thelma Gilliam; sisters, Shirley Carrick, Sue Collins and Brenda Goins; grandchildren, Shawn Caldwell, Blake Orange, Ethan Orange and Travis Caldwell; great-grandson, Eli Caldwell; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family was held on Tuesday, April 12, 2016, from 5 to 9 p.m. at Foster and Lay Funeral Home in Tracy City and also on Wednesday, April 13, 2016 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. followed by funeral services at 2 p.m. with Minister Benji Goins officiating.
